Information Literacy Instruction
Library instruction (information literacy) is an important component to building critical thinking. The library faculty offer group instruction in our computer lab to help with research, evaluation of information, and effective search strategies. Sessions are tailored to your class assignments.
Faculty are encouraged to schedule Library Instruction classes as early as possible; requests submitted early in the semester are more likely to be scheduled at the desired date and time. At minimum, requests should be made one week in advance.
Faculty should review their research assignment with the Librarian. Faculty must be present during the library session. All sessions are designed with demonstrations and individual hands-on work.
Ask us about Information Literacy which is a General Education requirement in NJ. See NJ's Information Literacy Progression Standards and an informative wiki about it. Also see our guide to information literacy at our Libguide: (http://middlesexcc.libguides.com/infolit)
